Latino Evening with Cocktails and Snacks – Saturday 23rd February 2008 On Saturday 23rd February, we have arranged for a duo of Latino guitarists to play at the club. They come highly rated and play anything from light Latino music to Gypsy Kings. To keep the rhythms flowing even more smoothly, we will be serving cocktails and snacks! Tickets will be available shortly, and numbers will be limited so get this date in your diary and book your friends too (non-members are welcome as always). Just to let you know that we have already sold more than half the tickets for the Christmas party, so you need to book soon if you don’t want to miss out. Non-members are of course welcome to attend with you. And remember, if you haven’t booked before 30th November, the price goes up from £25 to £30! (I have copied the details below again for ease of reference.) STOP PRESS: SOLD OUT Better Showers! We have had water pumps and new mixers installed to increase the water pressure in all the showers in the Men’s and Ladies change rooms. You will find them a huge improvement, and in this cold weather there’s nothing better than a hot invigorating shower after you have played! We have also fitted better quality toilet cisterns in the Ladies toilets, and these together with the extra pressure from the pumps should help prevent the frequent blockages we have been experiencing 2007 Christmas party A date for the Xmas party has been set... 15th December – Moroccan theme – watch this space for more details. Update on Re-Surfacing and New Fencing - Courts 1 to 4 Courts 1-4 have been resurfaced and are available to play on. They should drain better in the rain which means more tennis! Social Tennis - Tuesdays and Thursdays Now that autumn is here, organised social tennis on Tuesday evenings has finished, but it will continue on Thursday evenings throughout the winter. The cost will be £1.00 per person which will cover floodlights, and we will also be providing good used balls free of charge. In addition, all alcoholic drinks from the bar will be half price between 2000 and 2130! Social Tennis – Saturday and Sunday Afternoons – New Format! Social tennis on the weekends will of course also continue throughout the winter! But we will be trialling a new format from the weekend of 6th and 7th October which is used by a number of other clubs, as we are confident that everyone will enjoy it! So come and see what it’s all about…… The Second Scott Hampton Charity Day – Saturday 29th September 2007
