Social

Westside is a fun, friendly club with an active social scene both on and off the court with many varied events running throughout the year including American Tournaments. We organise regular social events throughout the year, as well as a few impromptu ones and we have regular club social tennis sessions every week. We have a lounge area with a big screen TV where members watch major sporting events or simply enjoy weekend afternoons chatting with friends between games.

Social Tennis

Westside runs a number of organised Social Tennis and club sessions for members. These sessions are a great opportunity to meet other players and enjoy some organised tennis without the need to have arranged someone to play with in advance. Just turn up and join in. Click here for full details.

Social Events

We organise a range of social events both on and off the court throughtout the year, as detailed below. For more information about upcoming events and activities, go to the event calendar.

Barbeques
During the summer months we hold regular barbeques at the weekends, some scheduled on the events calendar and others just impromptu when the weather is good. Some are bring your own food and cook it using the club facilities, and others are run as full events with a ticket price where the food is cooked for you.

American Tournaments
Interspersed throughout the year we hold a number of American Tournaments. These are each themed: team players, mix and match, adult and child, and are a great fun way to enjoy some tennis and meet other members.

Quizes and special events
Each year we run events such as quiz evenings or live music nights. These are great fun and are generally accompanied by food or snacks.

Parties
The club holds a big party about once a quarter. The two biggest parties of the year are the Finals Day Party whereby the awards ceremony is followed by a barbeque and disco, and the Christmas Party which is a fully catered sit down dinner followed by a disco. In the spring and autumn there's frequently a cocktail party or disco night for you to make good use of your dancing shoes. This is not to say that there are not several informal, spur of the moment little parties that happen from time to time, just because – we love parties!
